Adams County Waste & Recycling is a non-profit community facility accepting both garbage and recycling. Garbage disposal is 8 cents per pound, and tire recyling is 12 cents per pound. Truck loads of garbage are easily weighed by driving across a truck scale, and if you have just a couple of bags of garbage, those are weighed on a small above ground scale. On the recycling end, we pay for non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, lead, brass, zinc, etc). Many other materials are accepted, but are not paid for, like steel, cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, and glass bottles. We charge a small fee to recycle tv's, computer monitors, fridges, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers.
